May 2019 Update
Yippee! Our project is nearing completion after more than 3 years. Thanks to the volunteers and the donors who have made this possible.
We have a community work day planned for this Saturday, May 4. Volunteers will be constructing a split rail fence, staining door exteriors and trim, hanging window coverings and planting bushes. If you like to help, bring a shovel, your cordless drill and a smile. Fence crew is meeting at 10 a.m. and painters will meet about noon. We’d love to see you!
Countdown to Completion – October 2018
There was a final inspection of the Town Hall this past week and we have only a few minor things to finish up.
A Grand Opening is planned for Saturday November 3, 2018 from 2 – 4 p.m. Live music starts at 4:30 and will continue until 7 p.m.
We welcome all those who’ve supported us to join in celebrating this momentous event!

Town Hall Update March 2018
Finally!!
Floors and Ceilings, windows, doors (sung to the tune of “head and shoulders, knees and toes”).
Have you seen it? The new Town Hall?? Once they started the framing, it went up quickly and it looks amazing!! Lots of windows and lots of room.
4 ½ years since the flood took the old town hall away and 2 years since we started working seriously on the plans for this new one, all the hard work and your generous donations are starting to pay off.
We aren’t finished yet and are still raising money to finish the project, but what a moral boost the last couple of weeks have been!!
Many of you are wondering when you’ll be able to contribute hands-on. Soon! We will be posting a volunteer sign-up sheet (somewhere downtown) and we can’t wait to work side by side with all our fellow community members! We’ll keep you updated about the sign-up sheet on this website and on Facebook (Glen Haven Association, Glen Haven Historical Society , Glen Haven Recovery, etc). You can also email us by clicking on the contact link on this website to request that we notify you personally when the time for volunteering comes.
January 2018 Update
The Town Hall foundation has been sealed and backfilled. We will soon see the building taking shape as walls go up, the floors go down and the roof goes on.
New windows and interior doors will be ordered in a couple weeks. Some of the windows from the old town hall will be reused in the north end of the new building. There will be double entrance doors opening into the main meeting room, just as in the old town hall. The Glen Haven Town Hall sign that hung on the front of the old building can also be reused.
A new donation request letter is being mailed the first week in February. Enclosed will be a financial report and a Giving Tree Form. (You may also download the form from this website) For a gift of $500 or more you may choose a pine cone or rock to have engraved with your name or sentiment or memorialize a loved one. If you have already made a donation of $500 or greater and would like to be included in our Giving Tree mural, please fill out and return the form and make note that you’ve already contributed.
This is a rough sketch of the wall mural to which the engraved pine cones and rocks will be attached.
We have a limited number of 2013 Flood Photo Books available and they are being offered at 50% off plus shipping. Click on the flood book page on this website for details.

Town Hall Update December 2017
The last couple of months have been filled with much activity at the new Town Hall site. The progress made is quite obvious as we can now see the completed stacked retaining walls behind the building site. A rock swale has been created on the north side to carry water away from the building and the well water line has been buried to the building site. Excavation of the crawl space area and foundation is complete and the building foundation should be completed by the end of December.
The actual building should start taking shape after the first of the year! Exciting times as our new Town Hall becomes a reality!
